The GAP 10th Birthday + Fundraiser

Join us at The GAP for a packed day of activities marking 10 wonderful years of championing the creativity and cultural life of the young people and communities of Birmingham.
We will be celebrating with workshops, art activities, the launch of our Friends Scheme, an art auction and a good old fashioned party! See the full schedule below and see you there!

Enter into the rare psyche of Kate Thompson via tempo and time signature twists and gently picked out guitar melodies growing up amidst thrashed out hilarity.
Now a solo performer, Kate formed kategoes (https://kategoes.bandcamp.com/music) in 2005 and is settling into maturity with a twinkle in her eye. Influences include Biff Rose, The Famous Jug Band, The Kinks and The Velvet Underground.
Oh and The Wombles.

The GAP Youth Theatre (11 - 14 year olds)

The GAP's Youth Theatre will be having their regular session working on an adaptation of Macbeth, exploring what it means to be a young person in today's world.

We will be launching our new fundraising shceme, Friends of The GAP! Also hear from Trustees, Arts Council and project participants about the need of cultural and creative action in these times, and more about the work of The GAP

Art Auction
Throughout the day you will be able to bid on a number of art pieces that have been donated by local/young artists who've exhibited in The GAP Gallery over the past few years! Not only could you win an original artwork, but all the funds raised through the auction will enable The GAP Gallery to continue supporting local young artists in hosting their first ever solo exhibitions. Artists include: Navi Kaur, Farwa Moledina, Haseebah Ali, Jane Thakoordin, Osama Rahmani, Taiba Akhtar and Tanny Tizzle.
Exhibition
Also on show will be Inés Elsa Dalal's exhibition Here to Stay. This exhibition documents the impact of nurses from the Windrush Generation who helped to shape the NHS. - http://www.ineselsa.com/nhs70
