Amara is a Black British Jamaican poet and writer born and raised in Birmingham, UK.

 

Her work explores social constructs/politics and their effect on identity. She is also an English and Philosophy graduate with an interest in Speech and Language. The meaning of words, the way we use language, real world events and the absurdity of existence are explored through her poetry.

 

With original poems, interactive art, illustrations and audio, this exhibition explores nature as a metaphor for black British experiences and history.

Special launch event on the 1st October, 6.30pm - 9pm
