In celebration of International Migrants Day, and to mark the close of our Children in Movement project, we’re hosting an unmissable evening of music and spoken word performed by members of Birmingham's many migrant communities. 

The event will take place in our cosy basement, with festive drinks and nibbles to get you in the mood for merriment. 

LINE UP ~

Ire-ish
Four sort of Irish lads from Brum, playing Irish folk, rebel songs and some other stuff. Known for "Fairytale of New Street", through which they are currently fundraising to support Birmingham's homeless over the Christmas period.

The Worldlings
The Worldings is an acoustic world music act, formed by musicians Ilias Lintzos and Tim Botfield. Sharing the same love for traditional music and sounds from all over the world, the two musicians started to mix their influences using traditional instruments, creating a unique sound.

Andrzej
European classics and beautiful old melodies rendered on the accordion.

Gavin Young
Gavin Young is a South African storyteller who has adopted Birmingham as his home. He tells tales from every corner of the globe in celebration of this beloved multicultural city. It is his passion to pass on the gift of storytelling and to open people up to the reality of our oneness with each other, nature and the cosmos.

Sayyara Syed
Sayyara is a poet and member of Writers Without Borders, a Birmingham-based group of writers from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Sipho Eric Nube
Sipho is a performance artist & writer based in Birmingham. He at times combines his interests in Acting, Spoken Word Poetry & Dance whilst working with community groups, organisations and even universities to engage, interpret and empower.
