The GAP Youth Theatre meets every Saturday afternoon in the GAP Basement rehearsal space. Members are 13-17yrs old, but we have a few remaining places, so we’re looking for new members to join us!

 

In our current project we’ll be: using drama games and techniques to explore and devise around the theme of islands, islanders and castaways; making masks; designing sets; and learning performance skills in order to share our dramatised story with an audience. We’ll also be linking up with an international youth theatre – this time from Beijing in China! – and developing an exchange project with them.

 

The GAP has an excellent track record of giving young people meaningful and transformational arts experiences. Our experienced Youth Theatre Leader is expert at facilitating the development of creativity and critical thinking in young people, a confident sense of self, and personal values, all through the social practice of making theatre. She is particularly experienced at supporting inexperienced young people to develop as proficient performers.

 

The GAP Youth Theatre is FREE to join. We just ask that you simply contribute your regular attendance and hard work as part of the team.
