Workshop

Yorkshire Campaign Against Prisons

Thursday 1st March, 7pm

A presentation by the Yorkshire Campaign Against Prisons on the British prison system and the developing frameworks for its abolition.

Many are familiar with the abuses of the US prison system, and yet the significance of criminalisation and imprisonment as mechanisms for the reproduction of racist, institutional violence in the UK remains largely invisiblised. YCAP will give an introduction to the British prison estate and some of its impacts and discuss the history and limits of reformist responses to state violence
